WebCystourethroscopy is indicated when the presenting symptoms strongly suggest a diagnosis of urethral diverticulum, interstitial cystitis, urolithiasis, or tumor, and for patients who do not respond to initial therapy. Endoscopy should be avoided in the presence of an active urinary tract infection.
